(Ventura) – Ventura County Clerk Recorder/Registrar of Voters Mark Lunn announced today the deadline to register to vote in the November 8, 2016 Presidential General Election is Monday, October 24, 2016. Lunn stated, “I encourage all eligible citizens to register before the deadline to ensure they can cast a ballot on November 8. Every election marks a new chapter in the history of our democracy. Register and vote!”
For your convenience you may register to vote or confirm your existing registration online at http://venturavote.org. You may also call (805) 654-2664 to request a registration form be mailed to you, or register in person at the Government Center Hall of Administration, 800 South Victoria Avenue, Ventura. Office hours are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. Registration forms are also available throughout the County at city halls, post offices, libraries, chambers of commerce, and fire stations. Completed voter registration forms must be returned or postmarked by Monday, October 24, 2016, in order to be eligible to vote in the November 8, 2016 Presidential General Election.
A person entitled to register to vote must be a United States citizen, a resident of California, not imprisoned or on parole for the conviction of a felony, and at least 18 years of age at the time of the election. A person may preregister to vote if he or she is a United States citizen, a resident of California, not imprisoned or on parole for the conviction of a felony, and at least 16 years of age.
